Glitter plays a big part in my make up routine, weather it’s a liner or a lipstick – I love the stuff. I thought I’d share my top 5 glitter products, not including glitter eyeshadows or any highlighters.
1. Lush‘s Fantasy Eyeliner
I’m a big fan of this eyeliner, it’s one of my favourites. Not only does it work beautifully as a liner, but I like to use is as an alternative to eyeshadow – I often create halo eyes using this golden liner as the centre of attention. Another thing that makes me love this product is that once its on, it’s on, it’s not going anywhere.
2. Urban Decay‘s Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Glam Rock
This looks incredible over matte black eyeliner, it adds a little glam to any look. However, my favourite use of this product is adding it to my inner corner, it really draws attention to my eyes and I often get compliments when wearing it this way.
3. Festival Face‘s Glitter in Silver Gal
Although I didn’t attend any festivals this year, it didn’t stop me from wearing any chunky glitter. I have a couple of ways I enjoy wearing this – when wearing a halo eye, I enjoy layering the glitter on top of the centre shadow and on my under eye. Also, much like the Heavy Metal eyeliner, I enjoy putting the smaller chunks of glitter into my inner corner to jazz up an eye look.
4. NYX‘s Face & Body Glitter in Red
When paired with NYX’s Glitter Primer, it’s one of my go-to solutions for a night out. I mostly use this glitter when creating a red/burgundy smokey eye, I either create a cut crease and place the glitter onto a clean lid, or use the glitter to create a halo effect.
5. Urban Decay‘s Vice Liquid Lipstick in Purgatory
I had a love hate relationship with this lipstick at first, but I just didn’t know how to apply it correctly. If applied incorrectly, the glitter will move around and the lipstick will appear patchy. It’s not like other liquid lipsticks I’ve used before, but after learning to apply in very thin layers and to patiently wait until each layer is completely dry, I fell in love. The colour is absolutely stunning, and goes incredibly well with a simple eye look.
